The Murnau Foundation’s highest-ranking body is the Supervisory Board. It comprises five representatives from the cinematographic private sector all with voting rights and two government representatives with a total of three votes.
The cinematographic sector delegates on the Supervisory Board are film industry professionals from the production, distribution, cinema, technology and export sectors.

The public interests are represented by delegates from the Hesse Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst (Ministry of Culture) for the Kultusministerkonferenz der Länder (Conference of Ministers for Cultural Affairs of the Federal States of Germany as well as from the Beauftragter der Bundesregierung für Kultur und der Medien (Federal Commissioner for Cultural and Media Matters) - with two votes.

The constellation of the Supervisory Board, the spectrum of interests and areas of responsibility assembled there, substantially document the role of the Murnau Foundation as an important institution for protecting and promoting film as an element of our culture.
